Teliapara liberation war monument is located in Madhabpur upazila of this district. On the 4th April of 1971, the first meeting was held between MAG Osmani, the commander in chief of the liberation war of Bangladesh and the officers of the then 2nd and 4th East Bengal Regiment at Teliapara Tea Garden manager’s Bungalow. In the meeting, the organizational concept of the freedom fighting forces and the command structure were chalked out under the command of General MAG Osmani. This place has become the apex attracting point for the liberation war researchers as well as the tourists.
